Alpes Self Guided Cycling - Oisans Valley/Alpe d'Huez

The Alpes - for cyclists it conjures up images of Le Tour. Fans lining the road and cyclists straining against the elements and gravity to beat all others to the tops of these giants! In 2008, the Tour comes to the Alpes last and will set up the final time trial, possibly determining the next champion. During this trip, you have time to hit Alpe d'Huez, Glandon/Croix de Fer, Col de Galibier, Les Deux Alpes and some fantastic routes you never heard of! There is plenty of time to ride hard all day or ride early and hard and get inside before the heat and watch the TDF stage finishes on the days it isn't in the region. Then a gourmet dinner and relaxing summer evening in the most scenic spot on Earth!

You have a very charming and small inn for lodging with a famous gastronomic restaurant. Situated in Freny l'Oisans, you are at the base of everything that goes up! Participants can come by rental car and with it travel around the region or further afield to see more of the TDF in person. The riding is self-guided - you go at your own pace, where you want, and when you want. You may meet some people in this group you want to ride with, but you can follow your own use of time! We give you full route details for cycling.
