NEW TOUR FOR 2010 - A trip to accommodate both cycling and non-cycling partners/spouses!

For those people who prefer to travel as a couple or for those couples who may not have the same tastes and it is hard to leave for France and leave the other behind at home! Here is the perfect excuse for any of those couples - a cycling trip that offers challenging riding, comfortable lodging, and non-cycling activities! We have many clients over the years who search for just such a program, so finally here it is.

This tour is guided, so full support is included, and though it is short, the tour offers a great cross section of Provence and its famous lifestyle as well as some cycling challenges on one of the most famous climbs in cycling lore; the Giant of Provence, Mont Ventoux!

Day 3: Ride & Lavender Day With a good day already in the legs, its time to try the main Ventoux route up from Bedoin. At 21 km, this is a long ride with very little relief. On the climb: between 2 and 6% during the first kilometers but after Saint-Esteve between 9 and 10,5% until Chalet Reynard... and then there are still six kilometers to go to the peak winding up in a steep stone-desert landscape. Return down via Sault and the Gorges de la Nesque - a fantastic route overlooking the gorge with light traffic. Non-cyclists, today you will be picked up at the hotel and taken on a lavender theme journey: visit some of the nearby fields, distilleries, and learning centers to discover the many uses of lavender! (subject to seasonal variations). Regroup back at the hotel, dinner included again tonight. (B,D)
